Interesting, I'm not sure I quite follow the column of senses being attributed particular sense to particular style, perhaps I'm reading it wrong

Hi Jen, probably the easiest way to get your head round the different senses is to listen to the lecture on it (here's the link: https://essentialpoetry.substack.com/p/tlop-part-10-modes-of-poetic-contact). Each stage uses a different 'sense'. Sentimental = immediate touch. That’s why after reading it people will say, β€˜That touched me’. Scholar = aesthetic 'taste'. And so on. Hi Jen, no problem. Yes - as I say in the lecture, it’s both how the reader responds, and what the author uses - hence the scholar uses 'aesthetic taste’ to write.
