Dear friends,
Today, My Name Is Swan by Jan Noble is officially published, and it’s available to order now.
When we first shared a glimpse of this book in the spring, we said it wasn’t a conventional poetry collection. It still isn’t. My Name Is Swan has spent a decade living off the page. It has been a film, a twenty-minute piece of stand-up theatre, a recording, and a pub crawl along the Thames from Oxford to Wapping, read aloud in every pub with a swan in its name. Today it becomes a book.
About the book
My Name Is Swan gathers three long narrative poems, My Name Is Swan, Reynard and Body 115, into a single unified work for the first time. Together they form a poetic cycle that moves from river, to city, to underworld.
At its centre is Swan: a wayfarer drifting through the hidden fringes of London, a figure on the margins, clinging to an identity and refusing the stories told about him. It is a book about the outsider, the fugitive, and the unwatched, and about where they might find safe harbour.

The edition
In keeping with how we publish, slowly and deliberately, My Name Is Swan is a limited edition print run of 250 copies, and there are less then 100 left, carefully typeset and bound. A small number of fine art editions have also been produced as archival objects. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

Thank you
To everyone who pre-ordered: your copies are on their way, and you made this possible. Every purchase supports the publication of new poetic voices, and helps a small nonprofit press keep doing things the slow way.
Swan has come ashore. We hope you’ll give him somewhere to rest.
With gratitude,
